Todd Holland, co-creator/producer/writer of Wonderfalls is brilliant, honest, he's won Emmy's. Bryan Fuller, the other co-creator is responsible for the creation of Dead Like Me and a ridiculous amount of Star Trek Voyager episodes (so tell all your Trekkie friends and make them watch too). Then there's Tim Minear (not to be mistaken with Tim Miner who worked on Buffy) who is as brilliant as they come (Angel, Firefly) and also kind of funny. Finally for all you music buffs out there there's Michael Andrews, Wonderfalls's musical composer. Now you may or may not recognize the name, but Mr. Andrews is responsible for the music of such masterpieces like Donnie Darko. Yeah Mr. Andrews wrote that song, "Mad World" hauntingly sung by Gary Jules. He also composed scores for shows like, Undeclared and Freaks and Geeks.
The cast is superb, yes there are a few Canadians in the mix, but don't let that stop you from enjoying the show. You'll love Caroline Dhavernas. You will also love the rest of the cast, but mostly you will love Caroline because she pulls off the best snark.
If the power of Wonderfalls isn't drawing you in yet, hear
US MAGAZINE – April Bernard “There won't be a show that is funnier, stranger, sweeter or harder to describe to your friends than this classy, constantly surprising new comedy/drama. There’s no doubt that this is the best series of the new season.”
SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE – Tim Goodman “Arguably the best network drama.”
NEWSDAY – Noel Holston “...spectacularly charming...”
LOS ANGELES DAILY NEWS – Janice Rhoshalle Littlejohn “...smart and quirky and intriguing..."
VOGUE – Joan Juliet Buck “Pushy talking inanimate objects make television a strange and wonderful place. The show is tight and fast and entertaining.”
US WEEKLY – John Griffiths "Gen Y girls who miss Buffy the Vampire Slayer will be thrilled to know they have a new reluctant hero. The show is deliriously funny, strangely uplifting — one serious rush!"
DENVER POST – Joanna Ostrow “The good-natured series is bizarre, clever and the most promising dramedy since My So-Called Life.”
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY – Henry Goldblatt “Caroline Dhavernas has the potential to be Fox’s biggest (and flightiest) heroine since Ally McBeal.”
GOURMET MAGAZINE “WONDERFALLS is set in a Niagara Falls gift shop filled with talking souvenirs. Don't laugh. It may do for this resort area what Six Feet Under did for mortuaries.”
AIN'T IT COOL NEWS “...a hugely entertaining comedy-drama-fantasy which benefits from affecting, genuinely engaging characters and some of the smartest, most-pointed comic dialogue you're likely to hear next year.”
APHELION REVIEW (11/7/03), Dan Hollifield
“WONDERFALLS is a great show.”
“Funny, charming, a delightful show.”
“I was smiling as the first scene rolled, and grinning as it ended. After that, I spent a lot of time laughing. By the end of the show, I was rolling on the floor. This is a wonderfully funny show. Right away, the characters pull at your heartstrings.”
“WONDERFALLS was so good I wanted more!”
“On any scale that you might wish to measure it, this show rates highly. Script, characters, costumes, sets, sounds, SFX—All come together to create an entertaining show in Fox’s WONDERFALLS. I recommend it to everyone.”
NEWSDAY (9/14/03), Andy Edelstein
“TV hopeful on the bench.”
AIN'T IT COOL NEWS (9/14/03)
“The FOX show to which Buffy fans should be looking forward to”
“a hugely entertaining comedy-drama-fantasy which benefits from affecting, genuinely engaging characters and some of the smartest, most-pointed comic dialogue you'll likely to hear.”
TV GUIDE (9/13/03), Matt Roush
“As often happens, some of the year’s most distinctive newcomers won't arrive until mid-season. The theory is that it’s easier to launch riskier shows when there are fewer new ones competing for attention. There are two I wish were coming on sooner, because I can't wait to see more of them….More whimsically, Fox’s WONDERFALLS is a comedy-drama about a young woman in Niagara Falls who fears for her sanity when inanimate objects like toy animals begin talking to her. How refreshing to know that even when some of the fall’s shows fail, as they must, we'll have something else to look forward to.”
and then read the review from someone who has already seen the show.
Finally, if you didn't have enough reason to watch Wonderfalls,
